Application of confocal laser scanning microscope techniques in dermatologic surgery

Abstract:

Confocal laser scanning microscopy CLSM is a type of high-resolution optical microscopy that overcomes the limitations of conventional microscopy and facilitates the generation of real time 3D images from relatively thick sections of tissue. As a non-destructive imaging technique, CLSM facilitates the in situ characterization of tissue microstructure. In dermatologic surgery, it is mainly used in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of skin tumors as well as the guidance of Mohs surgery. With the development of confocal technique, it has shown a favorable perspective for dermatologic surgery, and may further promote the development of dermatologic surgery.
