Vaccines have been applied to the prevention and control of C.trachomatis infection. Up to now, the vaccines against C.trachomatis can be classified into three categories: protein or polypeptide vaccine, DNA vaccine and dendritic cell vaccine. Although the understanding on immunological effects of these vaccines remains incomplete, and dendritic cell vaccine is still at experimental stage, all vaccines do deserve further research. Of these vaccines, DNA vaccine has been studied most thoroughly.
