Psoriasis is a Th1 cell-mediated autoimmune disease. Recent studies have shown the involvement of other cells in its pathogenesis, such as dendritic cells, endothelial cells, Th17 cells, regulatory T cells, and so on. Moreover, the activation, expansion and differentiation of T cells play a key role in its pathogenesis. Numerous cytokines released by activated T cells are responsible for the hyperproliferation, abnormal differentiation of epidermal keratinocytes as well as infiltration of inflammatory cells. In addition, some adhesion molecules (e.g., E selectin, P selectin)��cutaneous lymphocyte-associated antigen-P-selectin glycoprotein ligand-1 ��CLA-PSGL-1�� complex and CLA-CD43 complex also play some roles in its pathogenesis.
