Influencing factors of autologous epidermal graft by suction blister in the treatment of vitiligo

Abstract:

Autologous epidermal graft by suction blister is a common treatment for stable vitiligo with high success rate and less complications. Its efficacy is affected by various factors, including the selection of donor site, temperature, negative pressure, induction time of suction blister, strategies for the removal of epidermis in depigmented area before transplantation, distinguishing of epidermis from dermis during the process of transplantation, etc. Besides, combined therapy such as PUVA could improve the clinical outcome of transplantation. These factors, interacting with each other, affect the concentration and survival rate of melanocytes in skin graft, and in turn impact the repigmentation degree and extent.
