Microneedles for transdermal drug delivery

Abstract:

Microneedles are a novel technique for transdermal drug delivery. They can overcome the barrier of stratum corneum and promote transdermal drug delivery, also have the advantages of painlessness, convenience and capability of cooperating with other techniques. Many safe and effective types of microneedles have been developed for the transdermal delivery of various drugs, e.g. sugar micro needle and membrane-coated microneedle, which has extended the application range of microneedles.
