It has been shown that the 308nm excimer laser is markedly effective for the treatment of psoriasis with long-term remission, and is particularly effective for localized psoriasis via targeting on local lesions. Clinical trials are schemed either by psoriasis area and severity index (PASI) score or by the skin types of patients. The review mainly summarizes the mechanism, clinical application, clinical trial scheme and efficacy evaluation of 308nm excimer laser in the treatment of psoriasis.
