The etiology and pathogenesis of psoriasis have not been elucidated. Human body consists of chemical elements, and microelements accounts for less than 1/10000 of body weight. Microelements play critical and complicated physiological functions via multiple mechanisms. At present, it has been demonstrated that there is abnormality of microelements in psoriatic patients, and the effect of microelements, including zinc, copper, manganum, ferrum, selenium and nickel, on psoriasis are summarized here.
