Recently, with the progress in the understanding of the pathophysiology and pathogenesis of allergic contact dermatitis, more and more researches are focused on immunomodulatory agents in the treatment of this disease. The inhibitors of phosphodiesterase-4 inhibit the inflammation reaction by regulating cytokine secretion. Compared with glucocorticosteroid, ascomycin has equal or better effects but fewer side effects. Leflunomide and mycophenolate mofeli have similar immunosuppressive mechanism and good therapeutic ef-fects. Given the effects mentioned above, immunomodulatory agents may be used as a new option to treat aller-gic contact dermatitis��
