Eotaxins, a kind of CC chemokine, are named for their high selection for eosinophils. They include eotaxin-1, 2, and 3, and CCR3 is their major receptor. Eotaxins participate in cell recruitment, inflammation occurrence and tissue damage. It is shown that eotaxins are involved in the pathogenesis of many skin diseases, such as autoimmune bullous diseases, atopic dermatitis, urticaria, incontinentia pigmenti and erythema toxicum neonatorum.
