Association between human leukocyte antigens and psoriasis

It has been suggested that susceptibility or protective genes for psoriasis may be located in the HLA region, or be linked to HLA haplotypes to form extended haplotypes. In addition, the association varies distinctly with races and regions. So far, there has been no large sample-sized studies on HLA genes in Han Chinese patients with psoriasis yet, which are expected be carried out in the future to explore the association between HLA genes and psoriasis in Chinese population, reveal its etiology and pathogenesis, facilitate its diagnosis and treatment, and to promote development of precision medicine for it.
