Department of Dermatology and Venereology, People′s Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Urumqi 830001, China Corresponding author: Kang Xiaojing, Email: drkangxj666@163.com ��Abstract�� DNA methylation, an important component of epigenetics, can regulate gene expression without changing the gene sequence. In recent years, several studies have proved that the abnormity of DNA methylation is closely related to the development of melanoma, cutaneous basal cell carcinoma, cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma and cutaneous T cell lymphoma. The development of technologies has greatly facilitated the detection of DNA methylation. Analyzing aberrant methylation of genes by using methylation detection technologies has become a new direction in early diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of prognosis of skin neoplasms.
