Although traditional therapies can relieve symptoms and restore skin barrier function in AD, complete control and management are often difficult. On the basis of Social Learning Theory, patient education programs, which are aiming at self-management of chronic diseases from medical, nutritional and psychological aspects, often can improve disease severity in, coping behavior of and quality of family life of patients with AD. There are many forms of patient education program, such as education classroom, eczema workshop and Web-based consultation. Among various education models, the age related, structured education programs have proved to be the most effective adjuvant treatment for atopic dermatitis. ��Key words�� Atopic dermatitis; Education; Disease management
