B cell activation factory from the tumor neurosis factor family(BAFF) is an essential component for keeping the balance of B cells and humoral immunity.Abnormity of BAFF may lead to unbalance of humoral immunity and production of pathological autoantibody.Over-expression of BAFF may be highly correlatied with pathogenesis of many autoimmune diseases,such as Sjogren's syndrome,systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis.BAFF and its receptors might become a novel therapeutic target of autoimmune diseases.
