Photoaging mainly results from ultraviolet radiation. It is characterized clinically by dyschromia, telangiectasias, laxity, roughness and wrinkle formation, et al. The application of intense pulsed light (IPL) provides an easy-to-use, effective approach for the treatment of photoaging. There is no serious side effect with the therapy. Some changes are found in the histological observations before and after the treatment. However, the mechanism of IPL needs further investigation.
