Confocal laser scanning microscopy is a novel noninvasive imaging tool that produces high-resolution real-time skin imaging. Skin can be imaged in its native state either in vivo or exvivo without extra process that is needed for routine histology. The application of confocal laser scanning microscopy and its clinical significance in dermatological research have been recognized and new progress has been made. Confocal laser scanning microscopy is a promising technology for diagnosis and treatment of the skin disease.
