The morbidity of systemic fungal infections has risen with the increase of immunocompromised population. Early diagnosis is crutial for patients to receive immediate therapy and improved prognosis. Regular laboratory diagnosis, including microscopic examination and culture, often have disadvantages, such as a low positivity rate and long culture cycle. Therefore, it is difficult to gain early diagnosis. The emerging diagnostic methods of immunopathology, immunology and molecular biology at present, usually have a rather high sensitivity and specificity, so they may facilitate the early diagnosis of systemic fungal infections.
