It has been proved that the main cause of mastocytosis is the mutation of kit gene. Determination of tryptase levels in plasma and CD25 immunohistochemistry of bone marrow are of great importance to diagnose mastocytosis. Based on the deep understand of the disease, WHO redefined the classification of mastocytosis and the diagnostic criteria for systemic mastocytosis.
