Bowenoid papulosis is a disease clinically manifested by multiple flat papules on external genitalia. Histopathologically, it demonstrates low grade of carcinoma in situ. A close relationship between bowenoid papulosis and human papillomavirus has been implicated in researches. Some new approaches, e.g., local immunomodulators and photodynamic therapy, have shown significant superiority in the treatment of bowenoid papulosis. A few lesions have possibility to progress into malignancy, and such patients should be followed up for life time.
