Abstract:

Objective To compare the difference of minimal erythema dose (MED) excited by 308 nm excimer light at different body sites. Methods Three body sites, the forearm, abdomen and back, of 50 volunteers were irradiated by 308 nm excimer light and examined for MED. Results As far as MED was concerned, there was significant difference between the forearm and abdomen as well as the back, while no difference was found between the abdomen and the back. Conclusion As MED is different at different body sites, the initial therapeutic dose of 308 nm excimer light should be determined according to body sites in order to obtain best effects of treatment.
