Abstract:

The endothelin B receptor (ETBR),an important receptor of the endothelin(ET) family, can be activated by its ligands,ET-1 and ET-3,in malignant melanoma(MM).Currently,it has been demonstrated that the expression of ETBR is upregulated in most cases of MM,and a variety of biological effects mediated by ETBR play important roles in the genesis, development and metastasis of MM.ETBR has been regarded as an important progression marker for MM.Intensive comprehension about the detailed molecular mechanisms involved in the downstream of signal pathway mediated by ETBR,will bring novel chances and hopes for further study on the pathogenesis and therapy of MM.
