Clinical practice has proved that ultraviolet A and B(UVA and UVB) phototherapy and PUVA photochemotherapy are effective in the treatment of pediatric psoriasis,vitiligo,atopic dermatitis(AD), parapsoriasis,etc.In addition,they are used in treating uncommon skin diseases.However,given the uncertainty of carcinogenic potential,absence of standardized procedures for the therapy in pediatric patients and bad compliance of children,the use of phototherapy and photochemotherapy is limited in pediatric patients.The review introduces the application,safety and therapeutic characteristic ofphototherapy and photochemotherapy in pediatric skin diseases.
