Abstract:
Drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome (DIHS) is a severe drug eruption with characteristic symptoms. The etiology of DIHS is complex and the mechanism of it has not been fully elucidated. The pathogenic factors include the defect in the process of detoxifying reactive drug metabolites, which is related to a specific genetic background, and human herpes virus 6 (HHV-6) reactivation. The drug and virus reactivation destroy tissues by an immune allergic reaction. And the destruction is primarily caused by CD8+ cytotoxic T lymphocytes. Aiming at the pathological changes, systemic glucocorticoids (GS) with intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) are the most effective therapy. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
